Mrs Otto Viertel, 20, died of two gunshot wounds at her home eight miles south of Stamford. Relatives from Clifton found her body on the bed during a visit. A .22 rifle was found nearby. Funeral services are set for May 31, with interment at New Hope cemetery.

Boy Fatally Hurt Jumping From Car In Rotan
Dewey Hancock ten year old son of Mr and Mrs W A Hancock of Rotan died in Stamford Sanitarium at 1 PM Thursday from injuries suffered Sunday afternoon when he jumped from the running board of his father s car in the path of an approaching automobile The radiator boiled over frightened him and he jumped without seeing the other car He had a severe scalp wound and multiple cuts and bruises and was said to be in serious condition from the start The body was taken to Rotan for burial.

Workman Loses Part Of Leg In Plaster Works Accident
F. T. Wallace, 38, of Plasterco, lost his left leg in an accident at a plaster mill near Hamlin. While elevating plaster in a tunnel, a conveyor clutch hung and a lid came off. His foot was caught and severed. he saved himself by grabbing the timbers. He was taken to Stamford hospital where attendants gave a favorable condition report.
