Five Stamford bands join in spring school concert
Five school bands in Stamford will perform in the annual spring band concert Thursday at 7 pm in the high school auditorium. The sixth grade, seventh grade, junior high, jazz, and high school Bulldog Band will present various music. Band Director Alvin Young calls it a premiere for the new sixth grade group. A high school senior will receive the John Phillip Sousa award, with a signed certificate, lapel pin, and desk plate, and a commemorative plaque in the band hall. The concert is free to the public and starts at 7 pm.
