Forty five senior members at Stamford High will graduate Friday evening at the City Auditorium. The program includes processional, invocation, readings, and a theme on Peace. Diplomas presented by I H Berry with class officers announced. Honor graduates to be named Thursday.

6-Week Summer School To Open May 20
Stamford Public Schools announce a six week summer session starting Monday May 20 for fourth through seventh grade students with courses in arithmetic English history and geography. Tuition is 7.50 for two subjects and 10 for three, with high school courses excluding science led by Tinsley Doak and Lester. The program aims to review work for promotion and allow high school students to earn credits and graduate earlier.

Nutrition Work Reduces Underweight Children in Stamford Schools
Miss Marjorie Vaughn, Red Cross nutritionist for Stamford Public Schools, reports a decline in ten percent underweight pupils from 141 in September to 55 in May among 698 students in Central Ward and Intermediate schools. Seven percent underweight rose from 119 to 133, while four percent underweight fell from 207 to 171. The rise in seven percent underweight stems from the drop in ten percent cases. Regular hours and weight-gain efforts, plus milk donations by the Business and Professional Women’s Club, have helped pupils gain about a pound monthly on average.

Stamford plans to send a delegation to the District Convention of the West Texas Chamber Commerce at Seymour on May 16. The Onto-Seymour committee includes Dr. P. Bunkley Harley Goble and Roy Ingend. Dick Rowland will lead the Fireman's Band en route and perform in Seymour. Mayor J A Britain invites Stamford to join events and a big fish fry at Lake Kemp that evening.

Crop Prospects Bright After Sunday Rain in Stamford
Rain fell Sunday totaling 1.72 inches with most of it in the afternoon, aiding crops that were already up and enabling seedbed stage crops to advance. Farmers expect much cotton planting this week, wind damage noted in some areas, and insurers report wind-related claims. Water undermined gutters on Orient Street. Rain was general across West Texas improving crop prospects for the year.

Stamford Public Schools will introduce two four year programs for the 1929 1930 session. A college preparatory track mirrors prior study with sixteen units thirty six required courses while a commercial industrial track omits foreign language and the fourth year English and leads to a high school diploma without college entrance certification.
