Stamford Steers beat Rule nine 16 to 13 on Sunday afternoon to move into second place in the Wichita Valley League race. Harvick Hambright Courtney and Hollis pitched for Stamford while Rule used Edwards and Franklin. Twenty eight hits were recorded with six homers in the high scoring affair. The Stamford delegation will depart the Stamford Inn Friday at 6 a m in an automobile caravan to the West Texas Chamber of Commerce convention in Big Spring. They will visit the convention for one day and return to Stamford late Thursday. The Stamford band is to arrive in Big Spring Thursday night to be rested for Friday. G B White 62 a Stamford resident for 32 years died in a Wichita Falls hospital last Friday at 11 am after about four months there. Funeral at Kinney's in Stamford followed by burial in Haskell cemetery beside a daughter. Survived by wife son T C White and several sisters. two daughters preceded him in death. Born March 29 1871 in Sidney Comanche County Texas he moved to Stamford from Haskell in 1901.
