Cancer Crusade Aims Raise Funds and Inform Public

The American Cancer Society crusade this April as Cancer Control Month pursues two goals: public outreach with lifesaving cancer facts and raising funds for research. County chair man Ed Sprowls reports counties see rising cancer aid needs and national requests for research funds were unmet last year. Local chairmen across towns like Anson and Stamford lead volunteers, with more names to be announced.

Central Christian TCU Professor Preaches Easter Sermon Series

Dr Harold L Lunzer of Brute College of the Bible Texas Christian University will lead the pre Easter services at Central Christian with daily 7 30 p m services. Inter-City Rotary meeting draws 250 plus in Fort Worth

More than 250 people attend the inter city Rotary gathering at Roundup Hall on the Reunion grounds with Fort Worth club leaders and five area clubs. Dr Law Sone of Texas Wesleyan college speaks on Rotary’s attendance rule and global connections. Sales Training Course Planned Here April 21 24

The Stamford Chamber sponsors a sales training course at Stamford High School auditorium from April 21 to 24. Conducted by Arthur M. Brown, Retail Training specialist, the course is part of the Sales Development Program by the Distributive Education Department in cooperation with the Texas Education Agency. Classes run 7 to 6 36 p.m. with a $2 per person fee.

Former Pastor Will Preach for St. John Revival

Miniature Easter Lilies Sold for West Texas Rehab in Abilene

Easter lilies in miniature will be sold in downtown Stamford on Saturday to benefit the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene. Mothers of 11 Stamford children receiving treatment at the center, with Stamford High School juniors and seniors led by Peachy Cole, organize the sale. The event, tied to National Crippled Children’s Day, also cites Easter Seals contributions and lists participating cities including Abilene, Merkel, Sweetwater, Hamlin, Albany, Stamford, Winters, and Ballinger.
