Haskell County Hospital District Bid Goes Forward
State Rep. Frank Calhoun introduced two bills affecting Haskell County. H R 817 would place the county under Parks and Wildlife Commission regulation, while H B 845 would create the Haskell County Hospital District pending a county election and voter approval. Twenty eight members and five new ones attended the Stamford Junior Sheriff's Posse meeting at Nat's Cafe. Officers were elected and plans for the year discussed. Membership closes April 1 for uniform orders. The group, sponsored by Ocie Renfrow and Joe Osment, attended 11 rodeos last year and won one trophy, Renfrow said.

Anson Dealer Low Bidder On Sheriff Cars
Four automobile dealers submitted bids to furnish two police cars for Jones County Sheriff Dave Reyes. Middlebrook Ford of Anson was the low bidder at 2470 dollars for two V-8 Fords meeting horsepower and engine specs. Other bids ranged to 3590.80, 2606, and 2754.50. Stam ford did not bid.
