Several chuck wagons from Spade M B Throckmorton Guthrie Reynolds Land and Cattle Waggoner DDD and others plan to join the Texas Cowboy Reunion. Wagons will camp on a designated area with reunion-provided provisions paid for by organizers. Chuck wagon passes issued to ranch owners and employees. general meals 35 cents. old time Cowboy badge entitles one free meal daily at noon near the bunkhouse.

Grand Parade Opens Tenth Texas Cowboy Reunion Week
The 10th annual Texas Cowboy Reunion kicks off at 11 am Monday with a grand parade. Two to three hundred cowboys and 50 plus cowgirl sponsors join, plus bands from Hardin-Simmons, Haskell, Old Glory, Stam ford American Legion, and area high schools. Governor W Lee etc expected to head the march along a long fixed downtown route.

Ten Thousand Improvement Program at Reunion Grounds Completed
Improvements costing about $10 000 were finished at the Texas Cowboy Reunion grounds for the ninth annual Reunion. A recreation building called The Roundup by the Oldtime Cowboys Association will host square dances formerly held in the bunkhouse, freeing the bunkhouse as a meeting place for pioneer cowboys and friends. The Roundup sits 200 feet southwest of the bunkhouse, with native stone veneer walls and an iron roof. Additional funds support rodeo arena upgrades, judges stands, stables, rest rooms, and enhanced exhibit hall security and comfort.

Six or seven ranch chuck wagons will park in the camp area at the Reunion grounds next week. Cowboys eat and camp there while enjoying Reunion attractions and competing in rodeo contests. Visitors sometimes receive invitations to a chuck wagon as seen in a previous year photo.
Warm-Up Dance Planned Friday at Sponsors Pavilion
Sponsors of the Texas Cowboy Reunion and former first place winners will join Stamford residents for a warm-up dance at the sponsors pavilion on the Reunion grounds Friday night June 30. Invitations were mailed by W B Harrison chair of the dance committee. H G Andrews sponsors chair Mrs W J Bryant hostess and Miss Helen Rosenwasser are arranging details. A large crowd of Stamford and out of town visitors is expected.

Rhode Island farmer visits Stamford pastor after 16 years

Rural electric project funds allotted for local coop
The Rural Electrification Administration awards 158000 to build about 212 miles of power lines serving 450 members in Haskell Shackelford and Jones counties. Stamford Electric Cooperative, based in Bramford, will coordinate work with engineer from Morrison and Company Dallas arriving soon to stake lines secure easements and begin construction.
