Bronte Man Named County Agent for Jones County
The Jones County commissioners court appointed Bill L. Coalson of Bronte as county agent on Monday June 12 to succeed Jas M Binion who resigned May 1. Coalson a Texas Tech graduate has taught vocational agriculture at Wylie in Taylor county for six years. He will move to Anson and began duties June 15. An Avoca area crash kills Aviation Cadet William Morrow from class 44 K. Aviation instructor Ralph Defour parachuted to safety. Ranch Cook Lee Kelly Dies After 40 Years at S.M.S. Spur
Lee Kelly 71 longtime ranch cook died Saturday at Sanitation Sanitarium after an illness. He worked at the S.M.S. Spur ranch for about four decades and was a Texas native born June 21, 1872. He leaves four brothers and a sister and a niece Mrs. C. P. Ponder of Valley Mills. The body was prepared by Kinney Funeral Home and shipped to Valley Mills for burial.
