Driver Charged After Accident With Policeman
A 20 year old Hamlin man, Young Bill Maddox, was charged this week in county court with aggravated assault after his automobile struck Stamford Policeman Bascom Connally on May 27 around 10 p m on the square. Connally was hospitalized with severe lacerations a broken arm and broken ankle. Highway Patrolman Oscar Armstrong of Anson filed the charges after being called in by Stamford Police. Connally remains in Stamford Memorial Hospital and is reported to be recovering.

Sagerton Water Supply Corp Organized To Build Pipeline

English course for Latin American beginners starts Monday

Mrs Helmer 74 Buried Tuesday in Lueders Church Service
Funeral services for Mrs Charlie Helmer aged 74 longtime Lueders resident were held Tuesday afternoon at Lueders Church of Christ. She died Monday in Stamford Memorial Hospital after a brief illness and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery Anson. She taught as a school custodian for 26 years before retirement. Survivors include her husband five sons two daughters two sisters 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Thirty seven riding groups from across the area were invited to join the Texas Cowboy Reunion kicking off on July 2. The Possum Kingdom Drillettes, a new group of girls ages 12 to 18 from Graham, are among the invitees.
