S H Powells Body Found In Lake West Of Stamford
The body of 72 year old S H Powell pioneer ranch hand was found in Lake No 3 west of Stamford Friday morning with a bullet wound in the temple and weights tied to the leg. Investigators ruled suicide. Powell's career spanned two decades on M S Ranches and Swenson outfits. He is survived by two sons Carl Powell of Dallas and Harper Powell of Oklahoma City and a daughter in Fort Worth. The funeral was at Highland Cemetery conducted by Rev Sam Morris.
