The Farmis and Fikes No 1 Jennings oil well 12 miles southeast of Stamford leads to a city water system lease. Bill Peckham of Wichita Falls and F W Peckham of Stamford bought 25 acres at 65 dollars per acre for 1625 dollars and must drill within 120 days. The well will be drilled to 2100 feet in the Long Basin, near a 200 foot wide settling basin, at least 150 feet from property lines. The discovery sand was found at 2040 feet, with city property about half a mile away.

Death claims Mrs. Lora Little in Stamford brain tumor
Mrs. Lora Elizabeth Little of Fort Worth died Monday afternoon at Stamford Sanitarium from a brain tumor. She was visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Allen White of Avoca. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church with Rev Sam Morris and Rev Joel Grimes officiating. Burial followed in Highland Cemetery. She was born February 25 1892 in Itasca and was married to R B Little for 28 years. Survivors include her husband three sons her parents two sisters and five brothers.
