Pumper Ordered By City Is Destroyed In Wreck
The City of Stamford’s 750 gallon American LaFrance pumper bought for 8550 on April 22 was destroyed when a rail wreck on the Missouri Kansas Texas near Temple set a freight train ablaze. Delivery had been delayed and the city awaits a new factory build while the railroad bears the loss. Approximately seven killed and eight injured after a derailed freight train car toppled rocks and caught fire near Bruceville, 15 miles south of ace.

Rev Ben Parker Appointed New Pastor at Central Christian
Rev Ben Parker accepted the pastorate at Central Christian Church and began duties last Sunday. He arrives from Albuquerque New Mexico after five years as pastor in Breckenridge. Parker, a Texas Christian University graduate, hails from West Texas and says Stamford feels like home. Mrs Parker, in Big Lake, will join soon.

Funeral Service Held Saturday For Frank Adams
Funeral services were held Saturday for Frank R. Adams a Tuxedo youth who drowned in California Creek on Thursday. The 17 year old was found the next morning about 50 yards from where he and two companions swam. Volunteers neighbors and lawmen searched the stream through night and day until sunrise. Franks mother Mrs Joe Adams survives with two half brothers and other relatives.
