Fifty six enlisted men and two officers of Company K 142nd Infantry T N G returned Sunday evening from a fifteen day training school at Fort Crockett Galveston Texas. The unit organized last November and this was their first camp. Local men praised the trip and expressed readiness for another training period next summer. The homecoming drew several hundred Stamford citizens. Local officers and L B Cole received praise for making the event successful. Sam Tanner known for operating corn juice distilleries in Stonewall County is jailed in Jones County after being located south of Belton by Sheriff T C Birdwell.
