N Swenson Baptist Church Opens In Own Building
Members of the North Swenson Baptist Church met Sunday in the Colbert old home on North Swenson newly purchased by the church. Remodeling of the site is underway with completion expected soon. A large crowd attended as new classes started in Sunday school and a testimonial service followed. Stamford Gains First Oil Industry Plant
Dowell Inc of Tulsa will build Stamford's first new oil industry facility a chemical acid plant on M K T railway land southwest of the Katy depot. The plant will ship jelly form acid and add water on site to service wells in nearby fields. Manager H E Harmon and engineer George Phillips lead the project with housing arranged for workers at a site south of the Sinclair warehouse near West McClendon and South Webb streets.

About 30 Stamford residents joined the annual house party for the Young Women's and Girls Auxiliaries of the Baptist Churches District No. 17 at the Lueders Encampment. Over 400 district attendees were present with Mrs. Dick O'Brien as camp counselor and Stamford participants in key roles. Junior and Intermediate groups listed their members with sponsors, and visiting Miss Lilias Penick led the older group amid attendance by Rev. and Mrs. Dick O'Brien and their two sons.

Otto Baumback 61, prominent Haskell county farmer, died at the hospital last Wednesday. Funeral held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the family home near Sagerton with Rev. A H Muehlbrad officiating. T. A. Park Dies Shortly Before 80th Birthday
Thomas Alexander Park died at his Stamford home Sunday night after a year of illness. He would have turned 80 on August 15. Funeral services were held at St John’s Methodist with two pastors present. Burial was at Highland cemetery beside his mother. Park, born August 15, 1857 in Mississippi, lived in Cisco Callahan Knox City and Stamford. Surviving are his widow, six daughters, three sons, a sister, and 33 grandchildren.

Seymour prepares to host the 196 Seymour Reunion on Wednesday and Thursday July 28 and 29 with a two day rodeo on the football field and parades and dances in Seymour Park. About 50 Seymour businessmen organize events under the Seymour Chamber of Commerce with Red Lyon supplying 140 head of rodeo stock and prizes totaling over 650 dollars.
