Stamford Woman's Brother Killed in Round Rock Wreck

Willie Murray of Gatesville is named among ten Baylor University students killed when their bus was struck by a train at Round Rock. Mrs. Allen Graham of Stamford and her husband attended the funeral in Gatesville Monday after traveling there for the services.

Leeman Elected Manager Of South Texas Chamber

Ray Leeman was elected general manager of the new South Texas Chamber of Commerce. He will assume duties in San Antonio by February 10, moving from his post as assistant manager of the West Texas Chamber in Fort Worth. Homer Wade of the West Texas Chamber sent congratulations and pledged cooperation.

Piptee Sunday Meeting Held in Anson and Abilene

Starting Friday night in Anson through Sunday a Pitth Sunday gathering includes a Friday service by Rev W Moffett and a 1000 o clock morning sermon by Dr J Sandifer president of Simmons University Abilene. An executive county association board meeting occurs Sunday at two with a Women's work executive session also planned. Stamford Chamber of Commerce and agricultural extension officials organize a ten day cultural short course in Stamford starting February 21. Lecturers include Milley, G I Beith, and Marian Smith with Harvester Company backing. Norris Cleared as Jury Acquits in Austin Murder Trial

Dr. Norris is found not guilty of murder in the Fort Werth case. Verdict read by Judge James Hamilton after a delay due to Norris’s absence. Foreman, former Sheriff Woo Miller, led the jury as acquittal votes prevailed two to one. Jubilation from the defendant’s supporters followed the ruling.
