Discovery of oil on D A Ivy farm twelve miles east of Stamford and nine to ten miles north of Lueders promises a new King sand pool in the Lueders area. The Owens Snebold No 1 Ivy flowed with heavy gas pressure and is two miles from existing production with three new locations reported Roesser Pendleton on Ivy tract and Ungren Frazier on John McCown place. D A Ivy is brother to Albert Ivy of Stamford.

County and state tax collections on the 1936 assessments are running ahead of last year. Tax collector Roland Dunnody said he was here Tuesday receiving tax payments. Last year current taxes reached about 90 percent with delinquencies pushing total collected to over 100 percent.

Fort Worth salesman badly hurt in Wichita Falls wreck
W. B. Ray of Fort Worth, a Freidman-Shelby Shoe Co. salesman formerly from Stamford, was seriously injured in a highway collision four miles north of Wichita Falls after his car skidded on ice. His neck was fractured in four places and he will stay at Wichita Falls Clinic six to eight weeks before transfer to a Fort Worth hospital.

Food valued at twenty one thousand forty eight dollars twenty six cents were canned by Jones County Home Demonstration Club women during the year just ended. The report lists 12 demonstrators and 224 cooperators in food and bedroom work, with 14,634 quarts of fruits and vegetables canned and other preserves. The drought reduced canning. achievements include bedrooms, curtains, furniture refinishing, and 4-H sewing and clothing projects. Lueders Child Dies After Pneumonia Battle
Sylvia Jo Hicks of Lueders died at home after a four day pneumonia illness. Funeral services were conducted at Avoca Baptist Church with burial in Spring Creek cemetery. Kinney Funeral Home directed the arrangements. Born August 11, 1931, she was survived by her parents Mr and Mrs M H Hicks and J T Hicks of Lueders.
