Lancing M. Lindsey of Avoca died of pneumonia at the Stamford Sanitarium in the early hours after a nine day illness. Funeral held Thursday at 2:50 PM at Avoca Methodist Church with Rev. L. C. Garner officiating. Burial in Spring Creek cemetery. Survivors include wife, three sons, two daughters, twelve grandchildren, nine brothers and four sisters.

Avoca Independent School pool gains north extension drilling
Estimates of production from the Fred Browning No. 1 well near Avoca indicate 700 to 1000 barrels per day. The test produced over 150 barrels per hour during a two hour initial gauge, with heavy mud and cement and salt water appearing as swabbing proceeds. A quarter mile north extension is now assured as core samples and casing work move forward.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrated in Old Glory
Mrs and Mrs Henry Rinn of Old Glory celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 27 with about 600 guests at the Old Glory high school auditorium and a noon dinner for 76 relatives. The ceremony was performed by Roy Anderson of Anaperview, with music by Mrs Tipton and W C Macon, plus performances by Gladys and Eugene Vanderworth. The couple, married December 27 1888 in Austin county, have seven children and many grandchildren and great grandchild.

Mrs. T J Cooper died at her home near Anson after a fall led to fractures and pneumonia. Funeral services were held at Barrow-Lawrence chapel in Anson with burial in Highland Cemetery in Plano. Older Boys Rescue Lad After Fall into Ravine
Henry Lee Ellervboe eight year old son of Mrs. C. F. B. Williams of Peacock sustained a broken thigh when he fell into a narrow ravine about feet deep while playing Sunday afternoon. His brother Curtis fifteen and neighbor Herby Simsons fourteen pulled him through the ledges and carried him a half mile to the Mil lers where his mother was summoned. After first aid he was taken to Stamford Sanitarium and is improving.
