Fire of undetermined origin completely destroyed the D B Earnest residence in Symonds Place at an early hour Friday night. The family was away at the time and flames burst from the roof before an alarm. Insurance of 3100 on the building and 2000 on the furniture.

Mr Petrich and children Clara Willie and Lucea returned from the Plains where they worked. The play Marys Castle in the Air by Bunker Hill students was shown at the school house. Sagerton dedication drew many as a new school house opened. A Christmas tree program entertained the crowd with carols and plays. Santa distributed gifts from the tree. Mina Wolfe and Ilsie Wolfe returned from Texas Tech to holiday with family. School dismissed for holidays and will resume Monday December 30. Teachers planned to spend holidays with kin. Haskell county approves 985000 road bond for all highways
Citizens ratified a county wide road bond issue of 985000 to pave all highways in Haskell county. The measure passed 1881 to 729, exceeding the two thirds by 141 votes and funds will be allocated to highways 30 51 and 120 plus district bond retirements and right of way purchases.
