John W. Rye a Stamford letter carrier recently added two high grade jersey cows from the J. W. Chandler herd. The cows yield 523.2 pounds of butterfat per year per government test, boosting the dairy’s production.
Mrs Sarah Inglish McDonald entertained the Kolonial Kard Klub last Friday with fall fruit centerpieces on four tables and a three course menu. Mrs H G Andrews won the high score in bridge after the luncheon, with guests including Messrs Andrews Astin Douthit Carter Hud son Haynes Inglish Francis Harrison Hudson Payne and Bunkley.
Mrs Harry Yates entertained the Wednesday Bridge Club last week. Mrs Robert Harrison won high score prize in bridge games. Guests included Mrs Hugh Astin Mrs Almus Blackwell Mrs R E Hall Mrs G C Carother Mr Gordon Haynes Mr Robert Harrison Mr Budley Raines and Mr Frank Morrow with Mrs Grady Bowdry as a ten hour guest.
The Play-A-While Club met with Mrs. R. P. Small on a Wednesday afternoon last week. A Thanksgiving motif framed party games of forty-two and pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream was served with coffee. Guests included Mesdames J. B. Lee Albert Turner G. B. Mc Laughlin W. R. Keaton Z. A. Jeter L. E. Million A. J. Bell Frank Lindsey A. M. Conant C. E. Coombes Anna Dial E. B. Harrison Jack Fuqua E. R. Pace W. W. Miller and A. F. Ashenhust.
Mrs Arnold Douthit hosted the Saturday Bridge Club at the Stamford Inn last week. Mrs Robert Harrison won high scores in bridge games and received playing cards. Refreshments were served to attendees.

Mr and Mrs A Humphrey entertained the Couples Bridge Club Thursday night last week. High score prize went to Mr and Mrs J C Shamburger. Date-nut pie with whipped cream and coffee were served to guests including Mr and Mrs Paul Summers Mr and Mrs Shamburger Mr and Mrs R C Shelton Mr and Mrs Lee White and Mr and Mrs Oliver Smith.
Mrs. Carl Maples hosted the Bide-A-Wee Bridge Club last Friday afternoon. Miss Elizabeth Malphurs of Haskell won high score. The hostess served pie and coffee to Miss Malphurs and several members including Mrs. Oliver Smith and others.
Announced marriage on November 30 between Miss Florence Ruth Pratt of Midland and Roy William Johnson. The couple will reside in Pampa. The bride is granddaughter of Mrs. J. R. Pitt and has visited the city with her parents.
The Wahanka Camp Fire group held a Thanksgiving gathering last Wednesday with guardian Miss Esther Rogers. The program contrasted early and modern observances, included Pilgrim life poems, and finished with games and refreshments. Attendees included Lemore Fuqua, Betty Sue Samuels, Vesta Ferrell, Lois Caldwell, Mariette Goad, Mary Frances Ferrell, Paula Mae Vaden, Ruth Green, Eva Ann Allen, and Peggy Van Harbert.
The Sub-Deb Club held its November social at Mrs. R. C. Ricks home last Friday night. A long fruit centerpiece and gold and yellow crepe paper festoons adorned the table with green folder-place cards in gold ink. Attendee Bobby Lou Smith visited from Wichita Falls along with club members Janice Baird and others.
The Just-A-Mere Bridge Club will host its annual Christmas party on December 18 with Mrs. Branham Payne presiding. Members include Mrs. R. C. Shelton and Mrs. Earl Reese who won prizes at the prior meeting.
About 100 people attended a November and December birthday lunch after Sunday service at First Baptist Church. The gathering featured a covered fish lunch and a group singing of Happy Birthday led by C M Lester with piano by Mrs Lester. Rev Dick O'Brien led the invocation.
The Bridgettes gathered Tuesday night at Mrs. P. P. Berthelot’s home hosted by Miss Esther Rogers. Mrs. Tom Smith won the high score prize in bridge games amid a list of attendees including Roland Kelly Jack Young Bart Holland Morris Childers Bernard Buie Tom Smith B P Davenport Jr Billy Perkins Martha Jane Bryant Peggy Elliott LaVerne Grace and the hostess.
