A R Davis, born October 8 1850 in Central Illinois and married 52 years, died Saturday midnight in Stamford. Funeral at Church of Christ Sunday at 2 30 pm conducted by minister Merkel. Burial Highland Cemetery with Dennis Barrow Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include four sons, 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a sister Mrs O M Biggerstaff of Bonham. Wife died in 1921.

Wichita Youth Admits Robbing Stamford Bank
Rex Beard Jr a 19 year old from Wichita Falls was identified by prison staff as the Stamford National Bank robber who stole about 3500 on September 12 in a daylight raid. He confessed to a string of robberies across Texas and Oklahoma including No cona Bowie Fort Worth Waco Amarillo Abilene and Lubbock. Beard was captured by Detective Gene Brown in Wichita Falls after a failed attempt to flee. He carried 599.90 cash and guns in his car and was wounded slightly during arrest.

Girls Hit by Car Driver Arrested in Stamford Incident
Four Stamford girls walking home on North Swenson avenue around 11 p.m. November 27 were struck by a car. Waldene Griggs suffered a fractured back and was placed in a nat at Stamford Sanitarium Wednesday. Dorothy Griggs and Katherine Aaron have multiple injuries and are hospitalized. Jewel Griggs was discharged after first aid. The driver, Thurston Havens of Hamlin, said he did not see them in time and was released on $1000 bond pending their recovery. A group of seven youths in the car were questioned by police.

Aviation Cadets Honor Guests With Stamford Dinner
Some 165 aviation cadets from Stamfor Arledge field and about 50 Stamford businessmen hosted a Thanksgiving dinner at the Will Rogers Bunkhouse.
