They will debut "Silver Slippers" in costume with sponsors Scotty Scott and family among those presenting. Badges and hatbands can be obtained via the Chamber of Commerce and reservations by Friday morning.

Jones County Lone Survivor of Lost Cause Heads to Reunion
R. W. Ransone, Jones County’s last Confederate veteran, left Sunday for Trinidad Colorado via Wichita Falls for the annual Confederate veterans convention. At 90 he is among the younger veterans, having joined as a 15 year old with his father Captain George W. Ransone in Smith's regiment Howell's division of the sixth Georgia Militia. He has attended all but one convention in fourteen years and settled in Stamford over thirty years ago.

Funeral Service Held Sunday for Mrs. C. L. Meeker
Mrs. C. L. Meeker 71 a Stamford resident since 1901 died Saturday at her South Anson street home after years of illness and a year in bed. Funeral conducted Sunday at Central Christian Church by Rev. Albert Jones with burial at Highland Cemetery beside her husband. Kinney Funeral Home in charge. She was born Edna Freeman in Fort Smith Arkansas on February 14 1868 and married to Mr. Meeker in Deming New Mexico on June 10 1880. Survivors include son Elbert and daughter Miew Lascille Meeker of Stamford four grandchildren and one great grandchild plus five brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers listed. flowerbearers named.
