The firm Thompson and Chase of Abilene will survey Stamford Public Schools campus and advise on site for a forthcoming auditorium and other buildings over the next 10 to 15 years. Funeral services for Alex J Welch a retired service station operator were held Monday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev Temple Lewis officiating. Welch died Sunday at Stamford Memorial Hospital after a heart attack. He was born November 13 1890 in Orange and lived in Stamford since 1930. Survivors include a son two Stamford daughters a Abilene daughter a Big Spring granddaughter and great grandchildren and a brother. Burial was at Highland Memorial Cemetery under Kinney Funeral Home direction.
