Penicillin Used At Stamford For First Time On Osteomyelitis
Dorothy Dunn a 14 year old Rose High School freshman from Role was treated with penicillin at Stamford Sanitarium for osteomyelitis. The drug from Boston was given intravenously over ten days starting April 9. Her fever subsided in three days and she improved greatly according to doctors and her parents.

William Henry Arrant, 35, died when his truck veered into Tank Creek four miles east of Aspermont. H J Fowler was seriously injured and hospitalized in Stamford. Arrant, a Stamford Poultry and Produce employee, was born in 1910 in Louisiana and survived by a daughter, siblings, and an aunt who reared him. Funeral at Kina Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Aviation Cadet Rodney F. Trubey of Ellsworth Kansas 19 killed when training plane from 808th Army Air Forces Detachment Stamford Arledge Field crashed four miles southwest of Lueders Texas A board of officers investigates. Cadet Luther Eddie Aycock survived with shock and a sprained ankle. The body was sent to Kansas for burial.
