The 17th district American Legion convention in Stamford drew several thousand attendees for a Sunday program. Delegates arrived Saturday for a parade to the Methodist church followed by remarks from Judge Owen Thomas and Hon. Alvin M. Owsley. Near miss at Leeders picnic car overturns on turn
On the way to the Senior Class picnic at Leeders a Dodge driven by Miss Veda Newcomb overturned near Avoca. Miss Rur bhy Faye Miles suffered a painful arm cut. others were shocked and bruised. They returned to Stamford Sanitarium then continued to the picnic. Several named passengers were in the car. top and body were badly wrecked but no serious injuries.
