Cowboy Reunion Officials Hold Meeting Here

Officials of the Texas Cowboy Reunion Association and Stamford sponsors meet to plan the Fifth Annual Texas Cowboy Reunion on July 2 3 4. Ground improvements will expand seating with a rebuilt west grandstand, new grounds fencing, a ranch house cabin for officials, and revised rodeo corrals to handle larger crowds.

Pinson Transfered to Sweetwater Amid District Reorganization

J C Pinson, district manager for Southwestern Bell, will move to Sweetwater May 1 as part of a general re districting by the Southwestern. He will oversee the new district including Sweetwater Roscoe and Colorado and Spur moves to Lubbock. He arrived in Stamford in 1917 and has been active in local clubs and social affairs with his wife and daughter Jocephine.

Telephone Building Undergoing Repairs

The Southwestern Bell Telephone Company building on East Hamilton Street is pairing. General overhauls inside and outside will be carried on under the direct supervision of the companys engineers J C n district manager. A month will probably be required to complete the work.

Methodial Church Easter Services Highlight Plans

Mrs Holliday in Critical Condition Prompts Family Visit

Mrs R E Hall and Truman Holliday left Hamlin Tuesday for Stephenville after learning Anna Holliday was critically ill. Subsequent reports said she is slightly improved but bedbound for an extended period. Holliday has visited Stamford residents frequently and has many local friends.

Pioneer Woman Louise Jenneyson 84 Dies Near Stamford

Louise Jenneyson aged 84 died Sunday morning at her granddaughter’s farm southwest of Stamford where she homesteaded over 60 years ago. Born Louise Shaw, she arrived in West Texas as a teenager with her first husband Ben Shaw, later married Mr. Jenneyson. Surviving daughters include Mrs. Scott, Harmon, Wilkinson, and Alke. son M D Shaw of Los Angeles. 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral conducted by Reverend Robert O. Beaman at Central Christian Church with burial in Highland Cemetery.
