District Lions convention draws large attendance in Abilene
District 2E1 convention in Abilene drew 350 to 375 Lions, wives and guests over two days, marking one of the best attended events. Stamford Artist of the Month April Dorothy Dickenson
Dorothy Dot Dickenson 75, a Stamford resident and mother of four sons, has been named Stamford's Artist of the Month for April. After a stroke that briefly paralyzed her right side, she began painting landscapes in oil two years ago, studying under several teachers and embracing a lifelong interest in art. Born Dorothy Spoon at Dangerfield, she moved to Stamford in 1917 and is married to Bob, former city public works director.
