Bishop E. Cecil Seaman of the North Texas missionary district will conduct a preaching mission at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Stamford, starting Sunday evening April 14. Rev. Harrison H. Black assists. opening service at 7.45 pm with Holy Communion set for April 16 and 18. The bishop previously lived in Stamford during 1911 1916 when the current Church was built.

Stamford Chamber Names Sweetwater Editor as Secretary Manager
Charles Green elected secretary manager of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce and will begin duties April 15. He has been managing editor of the Nolan County News at Sweetwater since 1954 except for one year with the American Hereford Journal. Green came to Sweetwater in 1925 as sports editor of the Sweetwater Reporter. He is married with three children. the family will not move to Stamford until school is cut.

A. J. Swensen chairman of Stamford Chamber of Commerce highway committee along with Mayor R. C. Thomas W. B. Tayman and A. C. Cooper attended a State Highway Commission meeting in Austin Sunday. They sought approval for a farmer to market road stretching directly east from Stamford to the Jones County line. The commission said an engineer would be sent soon to assess feasibility at the Stamford end.
