Combined Rail and Tram Tickets Discussed by Council

Hurstville council discussed a proposal by Ald Grantham to press the Railway Commissioners for joint rail and tram tickets to Circular Quay. Regular travelers would count tram mileage as an extra mile and be charged per the railway scale. The motion, amended to include suburban trams, was carried.

Hurstville Council Slams Rail Staff Over Incivility

At a Thursday council meeting Ald Grantham urged writing to the Railway Commissioners about rude ticket inspectors on the Illawarra line. He noted 67 standing passengers on a recent journey and argued unsold second class seats should allow first class travel without extra charge.
