Last Saturday week a group of intoxicated youths rode the Mackville pike through town and beyond causing profanity and random destruction. At C L Brady's place a large white steel gate was smashed, prompting calls for identification and arrest of the miscreants. Brady offers leniency if the gate is repaired.

Death of Mrs Raley in Louisville Visit
Mrs Florence Raley of Louisville died last Friday morning at Dr Deboe’s home near town from aseptic poison and heart disease. She formerly lived in Texas in Washington county before moving to Louisville about ten years ago. About thirty two years old, she leaves a husband and two young sons. A Christian alliance member, her burial was in Lebanon last Saturday afternoon.

Bear cub replevin ends unusual Maine case
Deputy Sheriff Mark Huson helped recover a lost bear cub for William Fields of Washburn after a man attempted to sell or keep it. Fields had traced the cub from Portage Lake, and with Huson’s help obtained a writ of replevin to reclaim the pet, an unusual early Maine legal case.
