Infant Burned To Death In Cradle On Farm
A three weeks old colored infant died when a tenant house on Mrs. Mary Durrett’s farm caught fire while the mother Willie Barber was away at noon. Workmen found the cradle ablaze and could not rescue the child as flames consumed the dwelling.

Good Prices At Clarkson Estate Sale Near Springfield
The sale of R C Clarkson as administrator of the T D and Livya Clarkson estate was held yesterday at the old Clarkson homestead along the Springfield and Lebaron turnpike. Stock brought strong prices including pairs of horse mules at 390 dollars, two year old mules at 120 to 130, brood mares 125 to 185, milk cows 35 to 60, brood sows 11 to 26, hogs around 61 cents per pound, jennets 25 to 200, and field corn 46 to 48 cents per bushel. The sale drew a large crowd.
