Death of L. N. Simpson Fits Local Obituary Notice
Mr L N Simpson of this place died September 30 after a short illness with typhoid fever. He witnessed September deaths of two of his children and died peacefully at home. Born October 19 1856 in Meier county he lived there and nearby counties all his life. He married Lacey McGinnis on May 30 1889 and had seven children, four surviving. The mother also survives with a brother George Simpson and half-brothers John and Con Simpson. The family receives heartfelt sympathy.

Death of Mrs Wells at 87 Years in County Home
Mrs Amanda Wells died at the home of her sister in law Mrs R P Colvin last Sunday at age 87 after paralysis. Funeral at Antioch Christian church Monday with burial in the local cemetery. She left ten children with three daughters Mrs W T McMillan Mrs BR Colvin and Mrs W S Y Goodrett surviving. Grandchildren include Mrs Noe and Mr Leo Brown of Springfield. Rally Day at Springfield Baptist Sunday School next Sunday with recitations music and a talk by Prof Colvin at 9 30.

Death of Infant J K Leachman
Two weeks old infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leachman died last Wednesday at Mrs. Leachman's sister Mrs. Wiesen's home in Louisville after a brief illness from whooping cough. The baby, the only boy in the Leachman family, was greatly beloved by parents and relatives. The Sun extends its sympathy to the family.

Hugh B. Phillips, among the wealthiest men in Orfhord, dies at 10:30 p.m. at his South Frederica street home after a long illness. He was in Meade county in 1883 and worked in Lebanon before moving to Owensboro to enter liquor and dry goods. He later became a leading tobacco merchant in Western Kentucky and traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and Canada.
