A meeting will be held in the court house on Saturday night to organize a County Local. Attendees are urged to come as the salvation of the farmer rests on the success of this organization.
A Springfield meeting held Monday afternoon organized the Springfield A S of E Local No 2 with W A Clements as president and I o Mayes as vice president. Hon M F Sharpe urged farmers to join, outlining fair pricing, pooling crops and cooperative marketing in Central Kentucky Burley districts.
Mt Sterling Kentucky November 26 Farmers report barley prices rising with bright demand from American Tobacco Company buyers who purchased thousands of pounds. Growers note prices 3 to 6 cents higher than 1905 with wages for strippers at 1.75 to 2 dollars per day.
Winchester Kentucky November 24 reports a large turnout for a Burley tobacco meeting. About five hundred acres are pledged this afternoon as delegates are chosen to attend county meetings next Friday to select a delegate for the district.
The Burley Growers of Smithfield Kentucky announce a campaign to pool and pledge tobacco to the White Burley Tobacco Society at a minimum of 15 cents per pound. They pledge to burn bridges with Duke and insist on cash payments, inviting all growers to join to create a larger pool for sale over years if needed.
A Kentucky Breeders Association issue notes plans to make horses and breeding records available. The fragment references a fine horse program and the association's effort to share stock information.
The high school will close for Thanksgiving and resume Monday. A literary society night featured Riley poems, music, and a debate topic on direct election of U.S. Senators. Students discussed seasonal themes, and preparations for Christmas entertainments were announced.

In a spirited appeal Henry E Swain secretary of the Burley Tobacco Society argues that continued growers effort deserves fair pay. He contends a loyal producer to the industry should receive 15 cents per pound for merchantable tobacco and challenges Missouri growers to prove otherwise.
