Leg Amputated After Railroad Accident
Capt. S. M. Lawrence a freight conductor on the Bardstown and Springfield branch of the L. and N. railroad lost his right leg below the knee after a hunting accident in Floyd county Indiana. While on his farm a gun discharged when his foot slipped and the shot struck his foot. He was taken to a New Albany hospital where doctors performed the amputation. He remains in the hospital recovering.

Cattle Die After Eating Dynamite at Quarry
In Lebanon, four of Mr. M. C. Graham's cattle died after consuming dynamite left in a rock quarry on his farm. Three other cattle became seriously ill but recovered, and all returned to the quarry seeking more of the explosive. The incident occurred while workers were away at Bradley’s speech.
