Little Teddy Miller Dies at Six in 1909 Obituary
Teddy Miller aged 6 years 4 months 15 days, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Miller, died March 16 1909. He was beloved for a gentle disposition and survived by father, mother, three brothers, two sisters, with one sister preceding him. Funeral services were held at home by Fathers Gabe and Hennessy and burial followed in Willisburg cemetery. Community offers condolences.

Columbia Editor J. F. Stapp Dies in Kentucky
J F Stapp editor and publisher of the Columbia Spectator and Adair county philanthropist died yesterday at 4 pm after weeks of illness including a paralysis stroke. A Republican leader and Mason, he leaves a wife and five children. Funeral at his residence near Stapp Springs with burial at Providence church. He endowed colleges in Dalhart Texas and Campbellsville Kentucky.

Gun Dispute Ends With Firing Between Two Men
Nad Hardin and Amos Trigg, both described as well known Negroes, argued after drinking yesterday morning. Amos drew a gun, Nad seized it and threw him out. Amos returned with a rock and tried to recover his weapon. Nad fired a single shot, and both were later arrested. Nad was released on bond.

Etly Acquitted at Criminal Court After Long Trial
John B. Etly, twice tried for his wife’s murder and once sentenced to life, was acquitted by a jury after forty five minutes. He left the court a free man amid wild cheers as officers and spectators conveyed him outside and toward the jail. His release ends a saga that began November 14, 1906 when he was taken into custody.

Tax Collector Sued Over 1908 Taylor Levy Funds
On Monday this week in the Taylor Circuit Clerk's office the administrator of the late D. S. Wade filed suit against H. N. Beauchamp as Special Tax Collector for Taylor County for 1908 and against bondsmen West Virginia Bonding Company to compel payment to Wade's estate of the 20 cent levy funds used to partly pay a judgment in favor of the Bank of Columbia. The Bank had paid Wade's estate, then transferred the judgment to Wade's estate, and the suit rests on that judgment.

Court Proceedings in Washington Circuit Court
Last Friday at a special session Bohon Lucas v Howell ended with a judgment for the plaintiff of 215 dollars and for the mortgage lien holder IL H Thurman of 125 dollars. An order for sale of the two horses to satisfy the judgment was entered. Judge C T Atkinson presided. Also Saturday in the poles court Tom Ray was fined 60 dollars for whiskey selling after being found guilty by the jury. County Court met Monday with Judge Litsey overseeing the month term. The main business was probate of wills for Joan Simpson and Peter Shehan.
