Democrats Set Primary For Appellate Nominee In Third District
Lebanon Enterprise reports the Democratic committee for the Third District met at the Hi Hotel. They unanimously decided to hold a primary election Saturday, 2, to select the Appellate nominee. Each candidate must pay 2000 dollars to Sam T. Spalding, executive chairman, at least 15 days before the election. If only one candidate enters and hasn’t paid, no primary occurs and that candidate is deemed the nominee. Excess funds go back to candidates after expenses. County chairmen will appoint election officials and provide ballots. if a second Democratic primary occurs on June 2 in any county, the same staff, ballots, and boxes remain, with proportional expense sharing among candidates.
