Farmers rejoice as rain falls Sunday in Mt Zion. Local social notes report Miss Fee Cokendolpher visiting Mrs Kate Wifiarss, and several residents attending the Van Amburg show in Springfield. A ball game on Bloomfield grounds featured Nebraska Indians defeating Bloomfield 2 to 0 with Professor Colvin pitching. Mrs Robert Vaughan near Midway had a frightening morning when a chicken snake swallowed a young turkey, confusing her with the hen house sounds.

Mrs. Bertha Sutton entertained friends in honor of Miss Olive Sutton and Miss Hattie Settle Saturday night. Mr. Sleet Pinkston and wife visited aunt Mrs. Mat Inman at Hillsboro.
A. B. Palmer of Stithton was fined $500 in Circuit Court for usurpation of office. He held the Stithton post office under the United States government and also worked and collected fees as a notary public under the State government, violating section 237 of the state constitution which bars holding offices of profit under both governments.

D L Humphrey is still in feeble condition and F D Sweazy faces typhoid fever. A kitchen theft at W H Boblitt last Friday night took a thirty pound side of meat. Tobacco plants were set Monday in spite of rain. The Sun story Wings of the Morning is of interest.
