Cutting Affray at Frederickstown Between Two Men
At Frederickstown last Saturday a clash between Newell Hardin and Billie Perkins left Perkins with severe neck and other cuts. Witnesses described Perkins bloodied and needing a doctor, while Hardin, described as an old and quiet man, defended his actions as retaliation after Perkins allegedly struck him and insulted him. The feud is longstanding and bystanders intervened before fatal harm occurred.

Death of James L. Brown in Nelson County
James L. Brown formerly of Tatham Springs died at his home near Fairfield Nelson County on Monday June 5 after a brief illness from spinal meningitis. He was 30 and a loyal Baptist. Survived by wife mother two brothers and two sisters. Funeral at Little Union church with interment at its cemetery. Friends in Washington County mourn his loss and extend condolences to relatives.
