Mr. 8. D. Crouch formerly a poor boy from Washing ton county now elected Judge of the Western District of Missouri in the recent November election. A strong Democrat in a Republican district he won by a handsome majority amid unusual cold-water campaigning without saloon influence. He wrote of fighting eleven saloons and plans to continue. He married Belle Lynch of Willisburg about twenty-two years ago.

Death of Miss Dorothy Lisle McElroy in Washington County
Miss Dorothy Lisle McElroy, aged eighteen, died at her parents home near town on Wednesday December 26 after a week long illness. Physicians noted a stubborn disease from onset. Funeral services were held at the home and she was laid to rest in Ryder cemetery at Lebanon. She was a devout Presbyterian with a wide circle of friends. An obituary note will appear in the next issue.
