Polly of the Circus reading delights UD C audience

Tobacco Sales Highlight Third Local Market Sale

Last Saturday's tobacco sale on the local loose leaf market drew strong turnout with 80 000 to 98 000 pounds of barley tobacco sold at 10 to 22 cents per pound, averaging about 18 cents. Cave exploration planned near Nevada on New Year’s day

Harrodsburg Herald reports Messrs W H Reed William Riker D M Hutton Dr Robert Rosser and others organize a party to explore a big cave on the Myers farm near Nevada. The opening is large and the shaft reportedly extends downward and possibly to China. plans include safety precautions and a post above the cave to secure ropes during descent.

Mrs J A Tong Dies After Long Illness In Springfield

Mrs. J A Tong died at her home last Friday morning from breast cancer after fifteen months of illness. Born Lula D Jones May 23 1865 in Lincoln County she married J A Tong in 1885 and moved to Springfield where she lived since. Survived by husband five children sister and four brothers. Service led by Rev Father Hennessy and interment in St Dominics cemetery. Condolences poured in for the bereaved family.
