Born January 11 1854 he married Fannie Jeffries January 4 1877 leaving a wife five daughters two sons a brother and sister. Acknowledged as an auctioneer out in the county he was beloved for generosity kindness and charity. A Bethlehem Baptist Church member his funeral was led by Rev Purdom and burial followed in Bethlehem cemetery.
