About 100 friends gathered September 24 at the Seven Sisters Community hall to honor Mr. and Mrs. Jim Braund on retirement after 36 years with Winnipeg Electric Co. The ceremony featured speeches by club and company officials, a gift of a record cabinet, and remarks on the Braunds long service to church work Red Cross and local community life. Red Cross Blood Clinic Planned For Beausejour
Beausejour plans a community blood bank while the Red Cross in Winnipeg handles cross matches and supplies for 113 Manitoba and northwestern Ontario hospitals. Last year 42 597 bottles were distributed including 29 924 to Winnipeg, with diverse transport by bus train air and even parachute drops when needed.

Lac du Bonnet RM council met October 2 with all members and the clerk. Nine delegations appeared and requests covered include land, ditching, brushing, street lighting, and access to engineering. Several items were referred to councillors Mazur, Drabyk, Beluk, and others for action in 1957. Finances passed in the committee of the whole totaling 5714.50.

Manitoba Lowers Education Grant Mill Rate to Stabilize Funds
