Municipal nomination occurs Tuesday October 9 across municipalities as councillors seek re election or end their terms. Election on October 19 follows ten days later with many wards listing incumbents due for renewal. Residents urged to consider the best candidates and encourage suitable locals to run.
Dennis Crook, in Beausejour on Friday, walked into an over end beam at a grain elevator, suffering a scalp laceration requiring stitches from Dr. Giesbrecht. Some observers doubt the tale, though they admire his bow.

Jeanette Florence Martin and David McCormick wed at St Marys Anglican Church in a double ring ceremony on September 1. The bridal party included sisters and relatives with elaborate gowns and accessories. After a Fort William honeymoon the couple will reside in Winnipeg. A second ceremony, August 11, united Nellie Angeline Lapchinsky and Stanley Phillip Greschuk in Ladywood with a reception at Ladywood Hall and another at Angusville.
Manitoca Farmers Union members are asked to send two favorite recipes to their subdistrict directress for a planned cookbook to be printed this year. Recipes must reach the directress by October 31. Directresses listed with names and towns.
