Mrs Pauline Bannash age 78 of Sand Hill Manitoba died Thursday September 25 at her Sand Hill home. She came from Austria 50 years ago and is survived by husband Thomas two sons Joseph and Henry and five daughters including Mrs Mc Gee Mrs Bannash Mrs Bay Mrs August Rattai and Mrs Belgard. Funeral at Ladywood St Peter and Paul on September 27 officiated by Rev C Litowski with Russell's Funeral Home in charge and burial in Ladywood cemetery.
Mrs. Stanley Potempo of Green Oak died Wednesday October 1 after a brief illness. Born in the Ukraine in 1875 she came to Canada 50 years ago and lived in Green Oak. Funeral held October 5 at 11 30 a m at Greek Catholic Church Ladywood with Rev Carmylo officiating. burial at Ladywood cemetery Ren shaw Funeral Home Beausejour in charge. Surviving husband Stanley three daughters Mary Renner Kapuskasing Rose Cover House Balmoral and Lena Martini East Kildonan and one son Paul Marchinshyn East Kildonan.

The Lac Du Bonnet Municipal Welfare Fund annual meeting in Municipal Hall on September 25 elected Dr. I. W. Sneath as president, Mrs. Frank Brown as secretary, and Mrs. V. B. MacIntosh as treasurer. A Halloween masquerade dance at Community Hall on November 1 to raise funds next year was announced with prizes and a grand march at 11 p.m.
Bert Furch of Winnipeg, guest of A. Krametz, was lost for about 24 hours near Pinawa. Search parties, then Royal Canadian Mounted Police and two dogs Laddie and Buck, traced his trail. He spent the night and phoned from Seven Sisters Falls around 2 p.m. He was none the worse for the experience.

The young exhibitor, the contest’s youngest participant, showed notable technique and arrangement skills, drawing hearty praise from district friends. He currently works on the Bloomquist staff.

Sadie Avison and Arthur Kelbert were married at three o clock Saturday September 27 at St Ouens Pentecostal Church. Rev Oscar Vouga officiated with Helen Isaac of Winnipeg as bridesmaid and Clarence Kelbert of St Owens as best man.
The Lac du Bonnet Home and School Association held its regular October meeting at the school with fifteen members present. Officers elected include Rev. K Bissell as president, Mrs. Arsenault as vice president, Mrs. Zeemel as treasurer, and Mrs. Bissell as secretary. A radio phonograph was presented to the school, and plans for the new school opening and the dedication of a King picture were discussed. The association aims to strengthen home and school ties and improve the school, with meetings on the second Monday each month at 8:30 p.m. at the new school. balance on hand was $297.07 as of June 10.
Bud Braund sustained painful injuries Saturday when stainless steel cuttings from his lathe wrapped around his fingers causing deep lacerations. Three fingers were badly cut and one required nine stitches.
