Neighboring farmers fought a blaze five miles northwest of Beausejour on Thursday night. About 30 volunteers used water and pails to quell the fire in half an hour. losses exceed 2000 with clothing and interior damage. Crash Injures RCMP Officer in Highway 11 Collision
Const. G. D. Currie of Lac du Bonnet RCMP was badly hurt when his car collided with a gravel truck driven by Herman Nilsson about six p.m. Friday, one mile south of Lac du Bonnet on Highway No. 11. He suffered a fractured left elbow, multiple ribs, a partial lung collapse and shock, and is listed in fair condition at Deer Lodge Hospital after transfers from Beausejour. Nilsson was uninjured.

A large Crowd enjoyed a Sadie Hawkins Day dance and chicken supper on Saturday November 14 at the Birds Hill community hall. Bird's Hill Hockey and Girls Ball teams organized with the Community Club refreshment committee, aided by many volunteers, producing hot dinners within minutes after dancing ended. Mel Bruce's orchestra supplied music and judged corsages. Kenny de Visser won fancy corsage, Huck Hallett the original. The club plans bi weekly whist drives, Amateur Night, and a three act play by end January with a free kiddies matinee as a Christmas treat.
