M P A B Weselak spoke on the Western Manitoba Pipe Line issue noting Trans Canada Pipelines Limited supplied gas from the province to feed western Canada and Ontario. He asked for calmer action on a riding Liberal reorganization set for February 1957 at Beausejour. The Pine Falls Golf Club wind-up banquet on October 26 drew 250 guests hosted by the Ladies' Golf Club. 1956 prize winners include Club Championship winner H. Mackay Ambridge Ophy, runner-up J. Dean, various flight winners with golf balls and trophies, plus awards like the McArthur Cup and a car cushion for W. Boivin. Junior Tournament winner R. Wanick Dr. K. I. Whitemouth Remembrance Day Service at School
Whitemouth School hosted a Remembrance Day service on Friday November 9 led by principal Mrs E Larson. Grade VII students Elaine Penner and Linda Pischke recited My Brother and In Flanders Fields while poppies were distributed. Joyce Aitken head acted as accompanist as students and parents sang Oh God Our Help in Ages Past during a two minute silence.

The Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet council met November 6 with Reeve Wojciechowski and councillors. They cancelled several taxes, issued refunds to two residents, adopted previous minutes, and referred other matters. A petition to add lands to Overwater School was denied. Public works and over expenditure requests were approved or noted, with total accounts of 41,168.07, including 30,490.00 to schools.

Ramsay McIntosh was elected President of the Lac du Bonnet Chamber of Commerce at a Tuesday meeting on November 6 at Casey's Inn succeeding J. W. Wade. Other officers elected included R. Butchart as 1st Vice President A King as 2nd Vice President Bert Wood as Secretary George Ambrose as Treasurer and executive members A W Brown R Nicoll I Grabke R Waters and W C Hardy. Brown reported that 600 tons of freight moved over winter roads to mining camps last winter and that winter roads will again be used this year. The Whitemouth Hospital Guild reports nearing completion of its Manitoba Cancer Research canvass with total collections of 144. The funds include Whitemouth Consolidated School and various church and organization gifts, presented at the November 5 meeting led by President Mrs. Henry Steiner. A Pantry Shower and Card Party is planned for November 16 in the School Auditorium.
