Lac du Bonnet Legion Plans Remembrance Day Service

Lac du Bonnet Legion maps Remembrance Day events for November 11 with a 10:00 a.m. memorial in Memorial Hall and a Mass at the church, a cenotaph wreath laying parade, plus an essay contest, rink concerns, bursary support, and new memberships. Comrade Gmiterek is now a full member, with two new applications received. Final plans are set for the November 6 Remembrance Day banquet.

Pinawa Lions Club marks first year and plans for 1965 66

The Pinawa Lions celebrate one year on November 28 1965 and review achievements from the past year. Schreyer NDP Wins in Manitoba Riding and Liquor Raid

Ed Schreyer captured the Springfield constituency in a dramatic win over incumbent Joe Slogan with a margin over 1,000 votes as the RCMP closed a large illicit still on the Lee River area farm near Pointe du Bois. Charges follow for Paul Szmerski Roy Wold and Gordon Cunningham facing court on Friday.

Pinocchio Production Delights Pine Falls Audience

A capacity crowd at Pine Falls school auditorium welcomed Fantasy Theatre of Brandon for a lively Pinocchio performance. Young cast and spontaneous audience participation charmed children as Pinocchio led them through a land of miracles. Cast included Alan Curtis and Michael Higgens with direction by Arthur Rubin. lunch followed the show.

Lutherans Plan Family Dinner Potluck At Community Hall

A Lutherans family potluck dinner is planned for 5 00 p m on Sunday November 14 at Lac du Bonnet Community Hall to stress improved Christian education for children and adults. George Takashima of Pinawa will bring a message. Sunday School teachers will stage a skit and older class students challenge the Church Council to a Reach for the Top style Bible knowledge contest.

Drillers Drilled at Jessica Lake School

A two week course at Jessica Lake Whiteshell Park trains 13 youths ages 17 to 25 into diamond drilling. Sponsored by Manitoba education vocational branch with federal aid, Mines and Natural Resources, and the drilling industry. Midwest Diamond Drilling and Griffith Brothers provide instructors.

Manitoba Health Regulation forbids depositing manure garbage dead animals or refuse into water bodies and prohibits discharging sewage or surface drainage.
