Janow Mrs P Stelko and Mike Wowk of Janow district in St Boniface Hospital after a farm accident where a tractor mounted saw caused serious hand injuries. John Kutasiewich, former district resident, died at Winnipeg General Hospital aged 48. Nickolas Serenuk drowned at Sandy Lake. he had lived in Winnipeg and Sandy Lake, owned a golf course. Funeral held at St Anthony Church Elma. Weekend visitors from Savant Lake and Grandview visited area residents. Remember Parents and Teachers Day on November 15.

October 22 excursion covered local industry to earn an industrial badge. Guides toured Pine Falls mill, studied paper production, and planned outdoor activities. Morning scout camp at Milner Ridge featured bivouac making, followed by an eight mile hike to Pinawa Falls with a cook-out led by leaders.
