Lightning strikes soup plate in May storm at Pointe du Bois
Mrs. F. Niemi reports a thunderbolt during a May 12 storm drilled a quarter inch hole through a soup plate and gouged a drain board when the plate touched the cook stove. The couple say lightning conducted through the stove and left a startling sound but no injuries.
Golfers Start Ball Rolling At Pine Falls
May 16 opened the Pine Falls season with 51 entrants. A mixed four ball event crowned prize winners Helen Kahle and Dick Willitt, Margaret Ford and Raymond Lalonde, Slim Frederick as low men, Mrs J Dean as low women, Mrs M Laggan as high women, and Ronnie Seguin as high man.
