Sylvia Mustowy became the bride of Alexander Woroniak at St. Nicholas Church in Winnipeg on Saturday May 15 at 3 p.m. The ceremony was officiated by Father Syanki with bridesmaids Mary Mustowy Dorothy Marynnik and May Harasy. Attendants included Paul Woroniak Michael Ryback and Joseph Neduziak. Nadia Mustowy was flower girl and Raymond Mustowy the ring bearer. The gown was ivory satin with a heart crown veil and red rose bouquet. A reception at Teddie's Place followed. the couple will reside in Winnipeg.
Iris Johnson became the bride of Charles Merke son of Emil and the late Mrs Merke of Whitemouth in a Grace United church ceremony Winnipeg. The gown was white satin with a pearl bandeau veil and red rose bouquet. Hertha Merke was bridesmaid and Abe Martin best man. A reception followed at the Merke home in Winnipeg and the couple plans to reside at Seven Sisters.
Kathleen Wilson eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Wilson Molson wed Laverne Arestad grandson of Mrs Steingraber Winnipeg in the Little Chapel of the Flowers Berkley California at 8 p m April 20. Rev Berlyn Farris Northbrae Methodist church officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle Avery.
Beausejour Board of Trade plans Farmers Day and Rural School Field Day for June 16. Events include a bicycle race from Garson to Beausejour with prizes, a rural school softball tournament, foot and sack races, tug of war, log sawing and more. Arestad wore a white chiffon gown with a short veil and pearl coronet. Miss Marjory Allen of El Cerrito served as maid of honor in shell pink taffeta with pale pink roses. Roy Smith of Oakland was best man. The couple plans a brief honeymoon and will reside in Berkley after the ceremony.
The Lady Golfers at Pine Falls held their annual meeting on May 28 at the golf clubhouse. Officers elected include President Marylyn Carey Vice President Mrs. Morrison and an executive committee with past presidents Mrs. Dean Margaret Ford Mrs. Aseltine and Mrs. R. J. Rigg. A 40 stroke par was set as the new women's standard and the opening tournament begins June 2 at 2 p.m.
The English Lutheran Ladies League held its regular meeting on Wednesday May 19 at Mrs A Meyers home. Attendees were thanked for supporting a recent tea and sale of home cooking and sewing in the Town hall. The next meeting is set for Wednesday June 9 at 8 30 pm at Mrs Leo Kaatz home.

John G Proceviat 51 of Port Arthur Ontario formerly of Elma Manitoba died May 20 at his daughter's home in Port Arthur. Born in the Ukraine he came to Canada in 1903. Surviving wife two sons Steve Sudbury and Peter Port Arthur two daughters Mrs Steve Chiupka Port Arthur and Mrs Mike Pauk Regina mother Mrs N Zuk Elma three brothers George Dan Fred and four sisters eight grandchildren. Funeral May 24 at Greek Catholic church Elma with burial in local cemetery officiated by Father Romanchuk Beausejour.
Fred Fisher aged 58 and formerly of Tyndall died Tuesday at Portage hospital. Funeral services were held at McGregor United Church.
Jacob Meyers, a Beausejour pioneer born in Russia in 1872, died May 21 at the home of Mrs. Funk 376 Semple Street Winnipeg after six years residence there. Survived by several relatives in Winnipeg Beausejour and Scotland, funeral held May 24 at Beausejour Lutheran Church with Reverend Moer telmeyer, burial in Beausejour Cemetery. Russell's Funeral Home led arrangements. pallbearers named Wm Black Vernon B C Dan Froelich August Froelich Nick Kubesh and Mr Huggard.
POINTE DU BOIS events include visits by Mr and Mrs T Storey and relatives at Mr and Mrs J Rosen home over the long week end. Mr and Mrs Doug Anderson plan a month long motor trip to Vancouver. Silver wedding honors held May 23 at Pete Livo home with many out of town guests. Community club met May 25 with low turnout. Local residents visited, and May 29 wedding of Florence Letain drew E J Hawkes party from Kenora.
Mr and Mrs Bob Marcus motored from Winnipeg last weekend to visit relatives here. Their small son Clyde accompanied them and A Kerre was also in town.
