Liberals Plan May 29 Delegates Convention

The Beausejour Liberal Progressive Association met at J. Bellan's home. They discussed Gardiner and McKenzie's letters and postponed the nominating convention. A resolutions committee was named. A convention to select Ottawa conference delegates will be held May 29 in Beausejour Town Hall, followed by a dance.

Messrs R Pearson and B Deane of Winnipeg were weekend visitors but could not return until Monday due to bad roads. Mrs Lindy Tyndall left Sunday for Great Falls to join Hudsons Bay staff and reports liking her new job. Mr and Mrs H Leith drove to Winnipeg Friday. Neighbors enjoy a sunny day as they tend gardens and prepare grounds. Men prepare fishing tackle hoping to catch the first fish of the season.

Raynold District Considers Joining Whitemouth

A meeting will be held at a later date to decide if Raynold municipal district will join Whitemouth. J Bartlett was on the sick list and spent several days in the city for medical care. Mr and Mrs Freddie Cousins express thanks to those who offered sympathy after their bereavement.

Dominion Day Committee Meets in Municipal Hall

The Dominion Day committee met in the municipal hall on April 12 presided by G. V. Towle with E. A. Kielback Dr. H. McDiarmid A. Gervitz O. Russell J. P. Stiffes and J. Bellan present. The treasurer reported a balance of 675.55 to be divided equally among the Board of Trade the Legion and the Brokenhead Agricultural Society. A reorganization meeting was set for Wednesday May 5.

The Canadian Daughters League held its annual convention in Kenora from April 27 to 23. Provincial president Mrs. T. H. Greenwood presided. Guests included Mrs. H. Matais and W. J. Docker MP Mayor W. Legion Auxiliary Monthly Meeting at Lac du Bonnet

The April meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion Lac du Bonnet 164 was held April 26 in the Legion hall. Minutes were approved. A provincial request about expenses for parcels to Britain was noted and a reply planned. Members discussed illness, sick visitors, postponement of a social evening and adjourned after a luncheon.

Hockey Wind Up At Lac du Bonnet

The first annual Lac du Bonnet hockey banquet was held with a crowd, buffet, and dancing. Road conditions kept some NE Hockey League teams from attending as Beausejour won the Pioneer trophy, presented by Hammersted and Sparman, and received by Oscar Russell as Beausejour’s captain. Russell spoke for his team thanking the town for a pleasant season.

War Memorial Committee Meets In Beausejour

The Beausejour-Brokenhead War Memorial committee met on April 26 with members L. J. Pulfer F. Rumak F. H. Ehinger R. A. Hayes W. W. Childe Mrs. F. Hayes P. Rumak J. I. Ridley O. Russell and J. Bellan. The secretary was asked to invite J. R. Roe of the Barrell Derby to a dinner meeting to discuss the project.
